Stephanie Ko '21, Penn State College of Medicine

Almost immediately after arriving on campus, Stephanie discovered her spot in the lab. Working alongside 91ÇÑ×Ófaculty members, she researched high-level topics, including the effects of metformin on neurodevelopment and the synthesis and characterization of organic semiconductors.

Those terms may not mean much to you (yet), but how about the name Guthrie? For Stephanie, her involvement in the prestigious Guthrie Scholars Program cemented her passion in medicine through clinical, hospital research – experience she participated in long before graduating from 91ÇÑ×Óand that she now benefits from as a med student at the Penn State College of Medicine.
